Aliveness Project of NW Indiana

The Aliveness Project of Northwest Indiana is a trusted community-based organization with over 25 years of experience serving individuals impacted by HIV, substance use, and mental health challenges. With a strong reputation for culturally affirming, trauma-informed care, the organization reaches various communities across North west Indiana.


Mission:
To assist, support, and empower individuals infected and affected by HIV; promote public awareness through education and prevention; confront discrimination; and advocate compassionately and culturally competently for people living with HIV.


Through their participation in MCAP the Aliveness Project of NW Indiana will now begin expanding its services through a 24/7 mobile crisis program to address behavioral health disparities in Lake and Porter counties.

Courageous Healing

Founded in 2014, Courageous Healing Inc. is a leading provider of trauma-informed, culturally grounded mental health care for individuals and families in Fort Wayne. The organization is recognized for its community-centered approach and its work in crisis response, including a Community Violence Response Team.


Mission:
To deliver culturally centered, trauma-informed, accessible mental health care in an authentic and safe environment.


Through their participation in MCAP Courageous Healing will now begin expanding its services to launch a mobile crisis program to address behavioral health disparities in Allen County.

ECHO Housing &Community Development

At ECHO Housing & Community Development, improving lives begins with reducing barriers—barriers to housing, social well-being, and economic opportunity. Based in Vanderburgh County and serving southwest Indiana, ECHO operates eight housing-centric programs that form a continuum of care for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. From emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing to rapid rehousing, prevention, and affordable rental homes, each program is designed to promote long-term stability and resilience.

As a Community Development Corporation (CDC), ECHO also leads neighborhood revitalization efforts and collaborates with a broad network of community partners to promote housing access, economic mobility, and social connection.

In alignment with this mission, ECHO is expanding its work through the Mobile Crisis Accelerator Program (MCAP), delivering trauma-informed, person-centered crisis response services that meet individuals where they are and connect them to long-term care and stability.

Imani Unidad

Imani Unidad is a South Bend–based nonprofit with more than two decades of experience delivering culturally grounded behavioral health services to across their community. Its work spans harm reduction, peer support, street outreach, and crisis response—all rooted in social justice and healing frameworks.


Mission:
To infuse social justice into social, behavioral, and mental health services by providing prevention, education, and advocacy through community efforts with an intentional emphasis on the Black community.

Through their participation in MCAP, Imani Unidad will now begin expanding its services to launch a mobile crisis program to address behavioral health related disparities in St. Joseph County.

Sounds of Sarah Inc

Sounds of Sarah Inc., based in Lake County, was founded in honor of Sarah Stovall, whose life was lost to fentanyl poisoning. Since 2022, the organization has led efforts to raise awareness about the drug epidemic and increase access to prevention, education, and mental health resources.


Mission:
To raise awareness about the nationwide drug epidemic and mental health crisis, ensuring the public—especially those most at risk—has access to critical information, services, and resources needed to help save lives.


With a focus on harm reduction, peer-led support, and mobile crisis response, Sounds of Sarah is building a trauma-informed, community-rooted response model for individuals facing behavioral health and substance use crises in Lake County.
